What can I clean with Neat™ Steam Cleaner?
Neat™ Steam Cleaner is designed for heat and water resistant materials, most hard surfaces, including sealed hardwood floors and most household fabrics: tile and grout, showers, sinks, toilets, kitchen counters, stovetops, ovens and range hoods, windows and mirrors, sealed floors, upholstery, mattresses, curtains and car interiors. Does Neat™ clean grout, tile and showers?
Yes. Grout and tile are the most common uses for Neat™ Steam Cleaner. Superheated steam loosens soap scum, grease and embedded dirt in grout lines, and the included nylon and brass brushes lift it without chemical cleaners. Use the all-purpose tool paired with a microfiber bonnet for shower walls, glass doors and fixtures.
Does Neat™ sanitize surfaces without chemicals?
Yes. Neat™ Steam Cleaner sanitizes by turning regular tap water into superheated steam. In independent laboratory testing by Microchem Laboratory (ISO 17025 accredited), 30 seconds of direct steam through the all-purpose tool and microfiber bonnet eliminated 99.9% or more of bacteria and viruses on hard surfaces, including E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus and human coronavirus 229E. Can I use tap water in Neat™? Can I add cleaning solutions or vinegar?
Use regular tap water only. Neat™ Steam Cleaner is designed to clean with water alone, and no detergent, essential oil or vinegar should be added to the boiler. Additives can potentially damage the boiler and void the warranty. If your water is very hard, distilled or demineralized water reduces mineral buildup and prolongs the life of the unit. How hot does Neat™ get, how long does it take to heat up, and how long does it run?
Neat™ Steam Cleaner produces steam internally at up to 275°F (135°C) and 50 psi. It takes about 8-9 minutes to reach temperature, and a full 54 oz (1.6 L) boiler provides up to 50 minutes of cleaning. The steam temperature at the exit point depends on the accessory used and whether it is covered with a thick insulating cloth. What is the difference between Neat™ and Neat Plus™?
Both units include the same 17-piece kit. Neat™ has a pressurized 54 oz boiler that heats in about 8-9 minutes and delivers up to 50 minutes per fill. Neat Plus™ uses a fast-heating heat-exchanger system that is ready in approximately 90 seconds. A separate water tank allows you to refill while cleaning. Compare Neat™ and Neat Plus™.
Which floors is Neat™ safe to use on?
Neat™ Steam Cleaner is safe on sealed tile, stone, ceramic, porcelain and sealed vinyl floors. On hardwood and laminate, use it only if the floor is properly sealed, always with a microfiber pad or cloth, and keep the floor tool moving. Avoid leaving excess moisture on these surfaces. Can I use Neat™ on upholstery, mattresses and car interiors?
Yes. With the all-purpose tool and a microfiber bonnet, Neat™ Steam Cleaner refreshes fabric sofas, mattresses, curtains, car seats and carpets, lifting odors and surface soil with no detergent. What accessories come with Neat™?

How do I refill, empty and descale Neat™?
Switch off Neat™ Steam Cleaner, release remaining steam through the hose and let the unit cool completely before opening the boiler cap. Simply empty any remaining water from the boiler and rinse with fresh water. Always follow the maintenance procedures in the Neat™ manual. Is Neat™ Steam Cleaner affected by the 2026 recall?
In February 2026, Dupray announced a voluntary recall for certain batches of Neat™ units (batch codes 0118-01 through 0425-05, model DUP020WNA), offering a free replacement boiler safety cap. Neat™ units sold today ship with the updated safety cap. If you already own a Neat™, check your batch code and request your cap at dupray.com/recall.
What warranty and support does Neat™ include?
Neat™ Steam Cleaner is covered by Dupray's 2-year limited warranty and lifetime warranty on the boiler. The owner's portal provides the full manual, training video, descaling instructions and replacement parts, and Dupray's customer support team is available by phone and email.
